Whether it's penciling in a mat class every Monday or scheduling private sessions twice a week, put pilates or cycling on your calendar.
To add meaning to your practice, find little ways to make each Pilates or cycling session feel like a treat. Set sessions apart from other activities by listening to a favorite song on the drive over.
Focus on a new principle (breathe, flow, centering, concentration, control, or precision) each session to liven up your movements and create new challenges. Ask your instructor if you need hints on how to incorporate each into your workout.
Arrive early to each class so you have plenty of time to prepare, physically and mentally. Taking a moment to clear your mind can help you focus on the exercises and shake off your daily stress.
Round out your workout and test your new-found strength and endurance, with some heart-pounding fitness. Check out our schedule for cycling classes for the best cardio for all fitness levels.
